2019Equipped with P-51D Mustang aircraft, the 122 Squadron of the KNIL was established shortly after the war. This squadron was stationed in Medan in North Sumatra where it relieved the departing RAF 60 Squadron. The duties of this squadron were to provide close air support to the ground forces and to secure important air communication routes.
